1 C oatmeal

2 C boiling water

1/2 C brown sugar

1 scant t salt (or less)

2 T shortening

  Let set till luke warm about 1 hr.

Add 1 cake yeast dissolved in 1/2 C lukewarm water. (110 to 115 degrees by thermometer)

Add flour about 4 to 5 C til stiff.  Let rise.  Place in 2 pans. let rise again.  Bake in 350 degree loven for about 50 minutes.
