Chili


1 lb. lean ground beef
2 lg. onions chopped
2 15 oz. cans dark red kidney beans
2 15 oz. cans red kidney beans
1 28 oz. peeled italian-style tomatoes cut up
1 14 oz. can stewed tomatoes
2 4-oz. cans diced green chili peppers
1/4 C chili powder
1 t garlic powder
1 t dried oregano crushed
1/2 t ground red pepper (optional)
1/8 t pepper

In a large dutch oven cook the ground beef and chopped onion till meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stir in the undrained beans tomatoes and green chili peppers. Add the chili powder garlic powder oregano ground red pepper and pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered about 1 1/4 hours or till of desired consistency stirring occasionally. Makes 12 (1 C) servings.
